Well, PK-Call'N has ended.
I would like to take this moment to thank everyone that helped make PK-Call'N a great success!
The Callers - To everyone that called in you get the biggest thanks.
Without you there would not have been a PK-Call'N.
You should all know that you played a big part for EarthBound/Mother fans everywhere.
You guys really made a big impact on NoA though these calls.
Thank you so much.
And to those that sent me emails about your phone calls, a double thanks goes out to you.
NoA Representatives - Even though they may never come to this site, or even know that there was such as thing as "PK-Call'N," I would like to thank them for their great professionalism during all of the call ins.
I got nothing but positive emails regarding how nice and polite the NoA Reps were. I know these call ins might have gotten on their nerves at times, but we all appreciate you taking our calls.
reidman - Thanks for the awesome web space and all the support you gave PK-Call'N! If it wasn't for the support of Starmen.Net, I do not think PK-Call'N would have reached so many loyal EarthBound/Mother fans!
Jonk - Thanks for supporting PK-Call'N since day 1.
You really put a lot of hard work into making PK-Call'N well known.
The support page on Starmen.Net and all the graphics you made were awesome.
Starmen.Net Staff - Thanks a lot guys for mentioning PK-Call'N A LOT in your updates.
You constantly reminding people about PK-Call'N helped a great deal.
Starmen.Net Forum Goers - Thanks for talking about PK-Call'N so much. Whether you had a positive or negative opinion about it, your feedback was appreciated.
And thanks for all of the great suggestions!
So, what was the result of calling NoA?
How many people called in?
I am still working on trying to find answers to these questions.
I will update again soon with more information on this.
Thanks again everyone for participating in PK-Call'N!

Old News
PK-Call'N Ends Today!
Today is the last day for PK-Call'N!
If you have not called yet please call today.
Once again the number is: 1-800-255-3700
PK-Call'N is doing great, but one more day remains.
This day is just as important as the first.
If you want to call please do so, and soon.
Every phone call counts!
PK-Call'N is a plan to organize the entire EarthBound/Mother series community and call Nintendo of American on one specific week.
Our request to them will be to please port over Mother 1+2 to North America, and when Mother 3 is released to do the same.
We really need as many people to call on the same week for the impact we want.
Just look at the recent release of Zelda: Master Quest.
Only an estimated 500 people called Nintendo asking them to port it over to North America, and it worked.
Just imagine an entire EarthBound/Mother community calling Nintendo in the same week.
The impact to Nintendo will send a clear message that we truly want Mother 1+2 and 3 for our GBA's.
Information
Starting on Friday June 20th through Friday June 27th we will call Nintendo.
Their toll free number is:
1-800-255-3700
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Saturday 6AM~7:30PM
Pacific Standard Time
Whithin these 7 days we all need to call in order for this to make a big impact.
You can call at any time during the day, just make sure they are still open.
Once again 1-800-255-3700 is Nintendo of America's Customer Service Hotline.
This number is toll free.
Which means, Nintendo of America does not charge you extra for calling them.
IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YOU MUST ASK YOUR PARENTS PERMISSION BEFORE YOU CALL!
How to speak to a NoA Representative:
This is Nintendo of America's Customer Service Hotline.
When you dial this number you will have a few options.
Follow these instructions in order to speak to a NoA Representative.
1. Dial the toll free number: 1-800-255-3700
2. Wait until the recording starts telling you the Menu options.
3. Hit Zero.
4. Wait to be connected to a NoA Representative.
What you should say:
Now you are speaking to an NoA Representative.
This is the person we have to give our message to.
You want to be original in your phone call.
But you also want to mention why you are calling.
Say something like you read about Mother 1+2 in Nintendo Power or just heard about its release in Japan.
But whatever you do please do not mention PK-Call'N or Starmen.Net in your phone call.
You want to talk about EarthBound, not promote an event or a web site.
If you follow this general idea the phone call should go smoothly.
The NoA Representative will most likely give you an address to write in to Nintendo.
If you feel like you also want to write in, and I suggest you do, check out Jonk's NP Siege III going on right now at www.Starmen.Net.
Be sure to mention that you called in your letter!
They might also correct you and say that a similar retitled game called EarthBound was released for the SNES.
They are going to assume that you didn't know about this game.
And finally they will ask you about your subscription to Nintendo Power.
Try to be polite and understand that the NoA Representative is trying to keep you informed.
Also, don't make the call too long as others are might be trying to call in.
And be sure to thank the person you are speaking with.
:)
Phone Conduct:
There are a few things to remember when speaking to NoA's telephone representatives.
It is very important that you understand these facts:
-Don't be rude.
You are talking to a person, not a machine.
They are at work right now having a bunch of people calling them and requesting a game to be imported.
I am sure they didn't go to work today expecting this.
Treat them with respect.
-Be as mature as possible.
We want them to take us seriously, not just dismiss us as some pranksters.
-The person you are talking to DOES NOT make the decision to bring Mother 1+2 and 3 over to North America.
Their job is to relay our message to Nintendo and show them that we truly want this series on GBAs across North America.
-Make ONLY ONE call per household.
If your brother, sister, mom, dad, or even grandma wants to also see Mother 1+2 and 3 on GBA make sure you mention that in your call.
And don't call Nintendo again from another line.
1 call per person please!
-The person you are talking to might be under going training, or these phone calls might be taped and monitored by Nintendo of America.
Try to understand that the person you are talking to has a job to do.
FAQ
There have been some questions about PK-Call'N.
Here are some of the most common ones:
Q:
Why not call Nintendo on 1 day?
A:
Originally PK-Call'N was going to take place on 1 day.
But the idea changed for a few reasons.
If everyone called Nintendo on 1 day it would mostly likely anger NoA a bit.
Sure, it would be effective.
But I don't think anyone wants a harassment law suit.
Another reason was people would forget to call on that 1 day.
Something would happen like you had to go to work, your sister wouldn't get off the phone, you just forgot, etc.
In these 5 days it shouldn't be too hard to call Nintendo just once. ;)
Q:
What if NoA announces the release of Mother 1+2 in North America before we start calling them?
A:
If NoA does announce the release of Mother 1+2 in North America you should still call and ask about Mother 3.
If NoA also announces Mother 3 then still call them and say "thanks."
Its the least we can do.
Q:
I am not from North America, can I still call?
A:
YES PLEASE DO!
It does not matter what country you are from.
If you want Mother 1+2 and 3 released in North America, let NoA know!
The more calls, the better.
Just know that additional phone charges may apply.
And remember to read the Phone Conduct.
Q:
What happens after June 20th?
A:
After June 20th Mother 1+2 will have already been release in Japan.
I do not know what NoA's reaction to everyone calling in and asking them about Mother 1+2 and 3 will be.
They may get really excited and realize, "hey, a lot of people want Mother 1+2 and 3 released in North America! So lets do that!"
Or.... Nintendo may have no reaction at all. The main reason for calling Nintendo is to let them know EarthBound/Mother fans are out there in North America.
Thanks
I would like to thank Starmen.Net and the entire EarthBound/Mother community for their support.
You guys rock!
